The politics of mobility and precarity – and the alternatives
14 -16 August 2024, University of Bergen, Norway
The 22nd Nordic Migration Research (NMR) conference focuses on the complex entanglements of mobility and precarity in the context of international migration.
NMR invites migration researchers from all disciplines to submit panel and paper proposals that focus on different aspects and dimensions of the entanglements between mobility and precarity. The panels and papers may address the social, economic, political and legal aspects of the mobility and precarity nexus. They may also address the various scales (macro, meso and micro) and dimensions of the processes, structures, institutions, and actors that generate or mitigate precarity. Panels that discuss the term precarity, its usefulness and alternative analytical approaches and frames for the described dynamics are also welcomed.

The deadline for submitting panel proposals is 15th November 2023. Deadline for submitting paper proposals: 29th February 2024.
